NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on December 9^th, 2024, at 112 South Water Street, West Newton, Pennsylvania, the Council for the Borough of West Newton, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, would like to advertise the proposed Ordinance 2024-7, vacating an unopened Alley way located in the Borough known as High Street Ext. pursuant to the Borough Code providing for penalties concerning service laterals. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on December 19^th, 2024, at 5:30PM, the Council for the Borough of West Newton, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, will hold a Special Meeting at 112 South Water Street, West Newton, Pennsylvania in Council quarters, adopting Ordinance 2024-8, levying a Real Estate Tax for the year 2025 and fixing the rate thereof 20.0 mills on each dollar assessed. The Borough of West Newton will also adopt the 2025 Budget at this time. Full text of the ordinance is available for review at the Borough of West Newton Municipal Building, Monday through Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm.

NOTICE

The West Newton Borough Council will hold their 2025 Meetings on the following Tuesdays at 6:30PM. Work Sessions will be held on the Second Tuesday of each month as follows: January 14^th, February 11^th, March 11^th, April 8^th, May 13^th, June 10^th, July 8^th, August 12^th, September 9^th, October 14^th, No meeting will be held for November, December 9^th. Voting Meetings will be held on the Third Tuesday of each month as follows: January 21^st, February 18^th, March 18^th, April 15^th, May 20^th, June 17^th, July 15^th, August 19^th, September 16^th, October 21^st, November 18^th, and December 16^th.
Please contact the Borough Office at least 24 Hours in advance to be placed on the agenda for the Voting Meeting. In accordance with ADA, if special arrangements are necessary, please contact the Borough Office FIVE days prior to the meeting date.
